Possible Future Careers

Web Developer

I think I could become a web developer in the future. This is something I like to do and I want do improve my abilities in this domain later. The web developer works in a web agency, as a freelance, in SSII or directly in a company. Its goal is to develop web interfaces adapted to the needs of its client. This may include intranet sites, websites, web applications or online tools. It meets a specification developed by the client or a project manager. He also contributes to its drafting, advising on technical aspects that are not necessarily mastered by the project manager. Computer literacy and coding remain important to the profession, always looking for innovations and new applications. The main languages used to create websites or web applications are HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and PHP

Professional Video Editor

I really want to become a professional video editor. This is something I love to do, and I already know how to use several video editors, like Premiere Pro, After Effect, DaVinci Resolve... The video editor is responsible for sorting and selecting film rushes in order to give rhythm and consistency to an audiovisual production, whether it takes the form of a film, a series, a television program, Interview, etc. The video editor must view the different shots of an audiovisual creation still in bulk, called rushes. The unplugging consists of a phase of sorting and cutting in order to put the chapters in the right order and choose the best takes. A video editor can work alone, following a pre-established script or in collaboration with a director, to decide together the best scenes to select and the most relevant way of rhythmic a story to make the final montage more or less dynamic.

Game Designer

The game designer intervenes after the project manager, once the video game audience is targeted, the type of game and the budget have been defined. He then designs the gameplay, that is to say both the rules of the game, the functions to be used and all the possibilities of interaction offered to the player. The game designer’s job is to translate a written scenario into a virtual game, with characters, scenes, situations and settings. The set must include actions, interfaces, distinct game phases, surprising protagonists and different levels of difficulty. The game designer begins by writing the game’s specifications (game design document, GDD) which details for the entire production team all the recommendations to follow. Because producing a game is not a job of genius alone, but a real team work! It must in fact consult constantly with the info-designers, animators, graphic artists, sound illustrators (sound designers) and testers.
